ZERO BALANCE
I’m about to tell you a big secret: I like to shop.
2008 was the first time I began establishing credit, and I quickly began to use my increasing credit limits to increase my wardrobe. Whoops! I had some credit card debt. Not a lot. But always enough that it was getting harder and harder to pay off and then I just started letting it grow. I wish it was all venerable spending from such important things as art supplies, books, and applying to grad school, but actually, I often used credit to buy shoes and clothes. And I may have been stupid and paying off my credit card only to see that as a free pass to fill it back up. (I even just bought a new animal print dress (on sale) to wear at the animal themed show at the gallery tonight!) Anyway. That was then, this is now:
I’ve paid them all off! Zero balance. I’m cutting up my first credit card ever.
Saving actual money starts: NOW.
